Pantry 279’s

Thanksgiving Food Drive 2021

Pick up days are Nov. 19, 3:00pm – 7:00pm and Nov. 20, 10:00am – 5:00pm.

Can you believe it is that time again? As with last year, Covid is continuing to cause changes and challenges, so we ask for patience and understanding during our 2021 Thanksgiving Food Drive.

Last year we distributed 2432 Thanksgiving boxes. While we would love to meet or exceed that milestone this year, we are limiting this year’s distribution to 2000 boxes in order to stay in line with our capacity.

This year presents us with two major challenges. Acquiring the food needed for the Thanksgiving boxes and securing a location from which to hand out the food.

Bringing together the food needed to feed our community is a perennial challenge and we rely on the kindness and generosity of our community to help us. Please ‘like’ our Facebook page, keep a close eye on it, and SHARE our posts. Sharing posts helps us reach new people who may not know about our mission yet.

Our second challenge is finding a location from which to distribute our Thanksgiving meals. We hope to be in a new larger facility by Thanksgiving this year. But this is a work-in-progress and the details haven’t been finalized. Once we have a distribution location, we will send out email notifications and update the information on this website. Thank-you for your patience.

The Thanksgiving box program is not only a program to make sure everyone gets a Thanksgiving dinner, but also ensure you can share the holiday with your family and loved ones. So when signing up to receive a Thanksgiving box, please include everyone you will be feeding on Thanksgiving in the ‘How many in the household’ box.

We at Pantry 279 wish you a very Happy and Safe Thanksgiving Holiday and look forward to seeing you on one of the distribution days of Fri. Nov. 19 and Sat. Nov. 20.
