Turkeys!! Every year in Feb we order our turkeys for the Thanksgiving Kindness Box Program which feeds over 2500 families (about 22000 people) for Thanksgiving. This year we ordered 1000 turkeys like normal, as we count on the community to donate the other 400. 4 weeks ago we got the devastating news that our order was canceled due to lack of birds. Hhfb has worked very hard to secure us 300 turkeys at a discount but we need 1100 more by Nov 20. We need help to get the money to purchase turkeys! If you can donate frozen turkeys (even 1 or 2) or money to help us purchase them it would be wonderful! Turkeys can be brought to pantry 279. Financial donations can be me via PayPal ( pantry279@yahoo.com), cash app ( $pantry279 ) on our website Www.pantry279.org mailed to pantry 279 p.o.box 312, ellettsville, in 47429 or just brought to the pantry. Thank you for helping make sure those in need have a Thanksgiving. Please share
As of now we have 311 turkeys and some money to pay for 300 of them that are coming from HHFB.

I have been requested by many to make a post as to what we need.
Here are some major needs:
Baby Formula, feminine PADs ( we have tampons), canned sides such as spagettios, soup, Ramen, canned beans, mac n cheese, canned meats, crackers, baking essentials like oils, flour, sugar, oatmeal, pastas and pasta sauce, rice. Meats in general!
The items on the Thanksgiving box list pantry279.org/thanksgiving/contribute/contribute-food
TURKEYS ( Sadly 4 weeks ago the turkey order we placed in Feb was canceled due to bird flu, plant closures due to lack of migrant workers, and a few other things equaling not enough birds) We have a solid promise of 600 turkeys ( that we have to pay for ), but need 1400.
Money to purchase food at the deep discounts we can get!
Honestly, we are not picky. With the amount of people we are feeding and knowing this will greatly increase starting next week, ANYTHING is greatly appreciated!! Please share and Thank you!
Monetary donations can be made via
PayPal Pantry279@yahoo.com
Cash App $pantry279
our website pantry279.org/thanksgiving/contribute/donate-money
Mailed to Pantry 279 P.O. Box 312, Ellettsville, IN 47429

💛 With the government shutdown pausing food stamps this month, many families are feeling the impact — but this is when our community’s heart shines the brightest. Together, we can fill the gap and make sure no one goes without a meal. 🍎✨
If you’re able, please consider donating to or volunteering with your local food pantry. Every bit of help makes a world of difference. 💪❤️
