We never do much for #GivingTuesday as every works so hard to support the Thanksgiving program and then we immediately jump into ELF Dispatch the Monday after ( Dec 2 this year ), but as we are still working on the meat bill, and we now have bills like rent, insurance, and boring things, plus food! Lots of Food! I am mentioning it once or twice. Money is always the hardest to get, but most needed. Thank you everyone for everything you do to help us make sure people have food. ... Are you still at the fairgrounds or are you at your normal location in Ellettsville now? Thank you!
Thank you to all of you.. we appreciate everything you do.😊
As the big Thanksgiving distribution weekend for 2024 is over, and we just have 3 more days of getting extras out to those not on the list, I wanted to not only thank our phenomenal community who pulled out all of the stops to make this happen for 2500 families, but our volunteers, staff, and families. These people are the Best Team Ever! They are super heroes! They push themselves way past their limit, then drink a coffee or diet coke, and push even further. It is not an exaggeration to say they can barely get into their car to drive home at night. We all have 1 common goal: to make sure those who need food get a variety of healthy, tasty foods, and be able to have a great Traditional Thanksgiving meal with friends and family. I hope every one is getting lots of rest last night and today and doing some serious self care. We start again tomorrow on double duty at the pantry with regular food distribution and getting what Thanksgiving food we have left over or is being brought to us to those families who didn't make the list or the few that missed their pick up. Much love, admiration, and my deepest thanks for being with me and making this dream happen!!
Sorry for any typos, we really are tired, lol

Day 1 of Distribution DONE and in the books. Thanks you so much to everyone who showed up to make this happen, who brought donations and cash to get more food, and to TWO MEN AND A TRUCK who braved the nasty weather to work outside and volunteer and Security Pro 24/7 who handled the difficult traffic situation so professionally and kept things going smoothly and quickly. 1000 ish families came thru today and got Thanksgiving meals to enjoy with family and friends.
Tomorrow we ride again !!

Should families have gotten an email confirmation?
Thank you all for our wonderful meal
My ride backed out anyway I can get it delivered?
OK It's GO day, there are a LOT of changes this year that are beyond our control. Biggest one is, the Fairgrounds is having a drive thru canopy of lights this year for people holiday enjoyment. To protect these extremely expensive light, we are only allowed to use gate 2 ( for entry ) and gate 3 ( for exit ). YES it is backed up way way way far on Airport Road. We have 0 control over this.
Volunteers and food donations are THE ONLY ones that can enter thru gate 3.
Want to get your food quicker?? tell them you will come in a choose your food, you will get sent down the left side to the parking lot and you can come in , get your food, and be done.
We DO NOT have enough turkeys or hams, it is what it is, we just don't have the cash. We are close and are still accepting donations. If you are a smaller family, you will get a turkey breast instead of a giant turkey.
Please remember, while you are waiting for a bit in line today, WE have been at this ofr months, and pretty much 24/7 since Monday. We just want you to have a nice Thanksgiving dinner, but our hands are tied with these new procedures.

Do they subscribe for ham instead of turkey?
what time do pick-ups start? noon or 3?
I think I scheduled my pickup from 6-7. Should I come earlier?
What a day!! Thank you can not express the heartfelt gratitude for all of the drivers who showed up on this blustery, snowy day to deliver Thanksgiving food to 369 families. We've never gotten done this fast before. Also to the ladies, and John, who tirelessly worked to stage the deliveries and routes and help driver load and make sure they got the right things. Several drivers did multiple routes, Errin L. and her son did many many routes, including all the way to Worthington! Also the 8 agencies who came and picked up for another 110 families that they work with. Amazing, fantastic job everyone! I know it's been a tough week for all , and everyone is sore and tired, but 2 more BIG days and its done. Again huge thanks to all!! ... See MoreSee Less

Thank you for all what you guys do in here and for everyone!
Thank you guys for the tireless hours you put into providing this program for our community.
So very thankful for you! As a staff member at Kinser, we appreciate your weekly runs And today all the dinners for Thanksgiving! You are a Blessing!!
For those who signed up for Thanksgiving delivery, and NO we do not have any more space for more deliveries nor can we change you from Pick Up to delivery.
THANKSGIVING DELIVERY IS TOMORROW ( THURS 11-21)
We will start around 10am and go til we finish, this could be very late. There might be some weather tomorrow that is unpleasant, we hope drivers will still come. Please READ all of this!!!!
You MUST answer your phone! We might need to call you with a question about food that you want or the driver may need directions. Drivers will be calling from their peronal phones, we do not know what all of these numbers are, and many will block their phone numbers so it can come up private or even "possible spam" on your phone. You still need to answer. If it is not the driver, feel free to hang up, but you still need to answer.
You MUST answer your door and sign for the food! The only exception is if you leave a large cooler outside of your door with a LID and we can leave it that way, but WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE NOR CAN WE REPLACE STOLEN FOOD Please read that again.
If you do not answer the door or your phone , there will be NO re deliveries. It will be brought back to the fairgrounds and you will have to find a way to pick it up. Any box left not picked up by 4 on Sat, will go back to pantry to be handed out to those who did not make the list next week.
We do not know when you specific delivery will be made. Drivers come in, grab a route, call/text to let eople know they are on the way and then run the route.
If you have poor cell reception, are out of mintues, your phone doesnt work or you lost your phone, or any other reason you did not get the drivers call, there is nothing we can do.
Finally, please be kind and considerate to the drivers and the staff/volunteers. They are giving up their time, gas, and wear and tear on their cars for free, so your family can have an amazing Thanksgiving dinner!
Thanks you, sorry for any typos, and feel free to SHARE
