Well that's all folks! As of now we are OUT of canned goods, except pears and a few peaches. Thank you to those who donated today so that the last few people could have some canned food. We have pretty strict limits on canned food ( 1 per type per family ) and we all know 1 can of green beans will not feed a family, but we stretched it as far as we could. We do have other foods, but meat is at it's limit and canned food is gone. We have thousands that come to Pantry every month, and we can use help. If you can run a food drive, donate canned food , or ( if no time to shop ) donate a few dollars so we can, that would be awesome!! Thank you and Please share!! Also, please keep in mind, with all of the cuts being made, all food banks and pantries are hurting.

We made it thru January thanks to everyone's generosity over the holidays. But now we are struggling with keeping enough food on the shelves and freezers to feed all of those thousands that count on us. ALL food, esp canned foods are needed, but the thing most need is meat. Rice's Quality Meats ricesqualitymeats.com In Spencer is helping out by donating a pound of meat for every $100 in sales they make from now until the end of Feb. ! Rice's has donated meat they have processed from donated 4H animals in the past and they are so very helpful. Please consider supporting this wonderful local, family run business and helping the Pantry get meat in the process. Thank you Rice's, your customers, and PLEASE SHARE!From February 6th through February 28th, your purchases at Rice's can help Pantry 279 stock their freezers with meat to serve even more people. We will be donating one pound of ground pork for every $100 spent in our retail section (processing and wholesale invoices are excluded).
Now is the perfect time to come grab some great meat and help Pantry 279 while you’re at it!

Volunteer of the Month: Shannon 🌟
We are thrilled to recognize Shannon as Pantry 279’s Volunteer of the Month! Since joining our team in 2025, Shannon has quickly become an integral part of our Pantry family, and we couldn’t be more grateful for his dedication and enthusiasm.
Shannon has truly found his calling behind the wheel of our big box truck, making countless trips to Indianapolis and beyond to pick up essential donations for our community. His willingness to hit the road at a moment’s notice has been invaluable to our operations.
Beyond his driving expertise, Shannon has been an incredible support to Stephanee, helping track donations, running errands, and keeping our day-to-day operations running smoothly. His reliability and can-do attitude make every task easier.
What we love most about Shannon is his genuine joy in being part of the Pantry 279 community. He thrives in our atmosphere and finds happiness in the simple act of bringing smiles to the faces of those we serve. That’s the heart of what we do, and Shannon embodies it perfectly.
Thank you, Shannon, for becoming family so quickly and for all you do to make Pantry 279 a special place. We’re lucky to have you!
