Volunteer of the Month: Shannon 🌟

We are thrilled to recognize Shannon as Pantry 279’s Volunteer of the Month! Since joining our team in 2025, Shannon has quickly become an integral part of our Pantry family, and we couldn’t be more grateful for his dedication and enthusiasm.

Shannon has truly found his calling behind the wheel of our big box truck, making countless trips to Indianapolis and beyond to pick up essential donations for our community. His willingness to hit the road at a moment’s notice has been invaluable to our operations.

Beyond his driving expertise, Shannon has been an incredible support to Stephanee, helping track donations, running errands, and keeping our day-to-day operations running smoothly. His reliability and can-do attitude make every task easier.

What we love most about Shannon is his genuine joy in being part of the Pantry 279 community. He thrives in our atmosphere and finds happiness in the simple act of bringing smiles to the faces of those we serve. That’s the heart of what we do, and Shannon embodies it perfectly.

Thank you, Shannon, for becoming family so quickly and for all you do to make Pantry 279 a special place. We’re lucky to have you!

Yes, we are CLOSED today ( Tuesday 1/27) we are going to be open a little bit Wed 1/27. 2pm-5pm. At 5, we are gone. Roads start to refreeze at 5:30 and we want both us and you to get home safe! We have not had any trucks this week due to the weather, and while we MIGHT get one tomorrow, it probably won't be a lot due to the stores being cleaned out before the storm. Anyone wanting to bring food by or any of that super cheap on sale bread, dessert, produce or meat, please do!! We are in a holding pattern on Delivery until hopefully Saturday when we will attempt to do a whole weeks worth. If you can drive and want to help on Sat, please contact Jason ( jasonpantry279@gmail.com) IF you have not 1 can of food in your home and can't make it here tomorrow due to being 100% homebound and are in Monroe county, call me and we will see if I can find a plow 4X4 drive to get you a small bag. I showed what is in the bag on the video, but its can goods, mac n cheese and dried lentils. If not please wait til sat or next week. We do not want any of our drivers getting stuck or breaking a leg, arm or hip, If you are bored and want to help, come on by, we will be here at 11am getting things ready ( but NOT opening until 2 for food! ) So, please don't take a chance if you are not needing food, and going to be happy with the few items we have. Next week will be better. But if you do, we will be here 2-5. THURSDAY CLOTHING PANTRY IS CLOSED THIS WEEK><
