🕊️ Rest in Peace, Mychal Doering 🕊️
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Mychal Doering, who passed away after his battle with cancer. He did so much for our community, and his kindness, generosity, and impact will never be forgotten. He touched so many lives and leaves behind a legacy that will forever remain in our hearts.
From all of us at Pantry279, we extend our deepest condolences to Mychal’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. May you find comfort in the love and support of the community he helped make stronger.
Mychal, thank you for everything you did for our community. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Your memory will live on in the hearts of all those whose lives you touched❤️

Thank you Jeff VanHorn and friends for this beautifully fun wrap! Now all vehicles are colorfully wrapped and we are looking forward to driving them around town delivering food and picking up donations!

Turkeys are coming this coming week! But we have to pay for them. As you can imagine, even with the great price we are getting, this is a hefty bill! It will run around $14000 - $16000 for 900 turkeys, ranging between 15-20 lbs on average. If you are able to donate towards these turkeys, here's how:

Thank you Seidr & Sigil Tattoo for running this drive for us!Times are rough right now for a lot of us. That's why community matters. We're partnering with Pantry 279 to help make Thanksgiving happen for families in need.
We did the math - it's around $25-30 to buy one of everything on the needed list. Tell you what - if you bring us a package containing one of each of the listed necessary items for Pantry 279 and toss in a $10 gift card for a bird we will give you $50 off any one tattoo you schedule between now and the end of the year. (Excluding our flash day events.)
Of course we will be a drop-off point for any of these items you wish to bring regardless. Let's make it happen.

Thank you Ava's Waste RemovalThe fall food drive benefiting Pantry 279 will begin next week. The drive will take place October 26th through November 11th. Items may be placed in a plastic bag, reusable bag, or a cardboard box and hung on the handle or set next to your trash or recycling container. We are also accepting drop offs at our location

This year, as Thanksgiving approaches so quickly, we here at Pantry 279 have been more stressed than normal. Not only has the need continued to explode this year, but many of our donors have been showing up in our lines, as their jobs no longer are able to support them. Not having a normal Thanksgiving dinner with your children and immediate family is very mentally detrimental. While we always hear stories as people express their gratitude, this year there are not only more, but they are so heartbreaking. The phrase, "I'm afraid that I will have to skip Thanksgiving this year, just so we have enough for 2 meals a day." has been heard a lot. 2 MEALS A DAY! Also, "I had to choose this month between rent and food." I also heard. Every Day. Our shelves are looking rough, but with the help of our partners at Hoosier Hills Food Bank and Midwest Food Bank, we have not turned anyone away. We are very thankful for them and our supportive large community!
